Who we are

The 2011-2012 academic year was the inaugural year for the Silver Stars. It was a year in which traditions were founded, excellence was established, and the underpinnings of lifetime friendships were forged. It was an exhilarating start for a new director and 29 freshmen and sophomores.

Since that time, the Silver Stars have established a legacy of dedication, leadership, and integrity that has earned them many awards, including the title of State Champions and National Champions.

How we got our name

When Samandra Nail had her interview with then-Principal Carol Houston for the position of Director of the TMHS Drill Team, she had placed Silver Stars on everything in her portfolio: the constitution, calendar, budget, football music, etc.

When Mrs. Houston asked her, "Who are the Silver Stars?" Samandra responded that she thought that the Silver Stars would be a great name, considering the school colors of blue and silver. Mrs. Houston responded with, "That is the name I had come up with and had not told anyone yet. This is fate!"

Isn't it awesome how God works?

Chloe Pudwill-Burton, more commonly known as “Miss PB”, was born and raised in Austin, Texas where she first fell in love with dance at a very young age. Her 18-year dance journey has led her through studio training, competing and performing in various genres throughout the Austin and central Texas areas. Miss PB found her passion for leadership and movement education during her years spent at Austin High School where she served as Captain of the Red Jackets dance team.

Miss PB recently graduated with honors from Texas State University in May of 2024 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education and a minor in Mass Communications. While studying dance at Texas State, Miss PB had the opportunity to perform at both the collegiate and professional levels. She was a member of Merge Dance Company and Touring Ensemble where she performed the works of notable choreographers from across the world. In 2022, Miss PB was invited to represent Texas State Dance at the international level as a solo performer for the Contemporary Caribbean (COCO) Dance Festival in Trinidad and Tobago.
